One day Farmers Training programme on “Use of Solar Energy in Agriculture” was organized by All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Plastic Engineering and Agricultural structure and Environment Management (PEASEM), Dept. of REE, CAET, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh at Seminar Hall, CAET, JAU, Junagadh on November 5, 2022.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. V. P. Chovatia, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JAU, Junagadh. Dr. N. K. Gontia, Principal and Dean, CAET, JAU, Junagadh; Dr. P. M. Chauhan, Prof. & Head, Dept. of REE, CAET, JAU, Junagadh, Dr. H. C. Chhodvadia, Assoc. Ext. Edu, DEE, JAU, Junagadh and Dr. G. V. Prajapati, Research Engineer, AICRP on PEASEM remained present and graced the function. Professor & Head of Various department of CAET, Research Engineer of AICRPs and faculties of Department of Renewable Energy Engineering also remained present during inaugurated programme.
During the training programme various lectures like; Agro voltaic Technology, Use of solar photovoltaic pump in Agriculture, Importance of solar energy in storage of horticultural produce, Solar dryers for agricultural produce and Types of solar rooftops and its maintenance were delivered by the experts. The farmers also interacted with the experts during the technical session.
Farmers visited the PEASEM lab and solar energy lab of the department, they also visited experimental sites of solar tunnel dryer and Agro voltaic technology. The demonstration of patented “Foldable Container for Storage and Transportation of Agricultural Produce” was done during the training programme. Total 65 progressive farmers were benefited in the training programme.
